More Information:
We will be meeting October 28-30 at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa. The theme for our time together is “Rising in Faith.” Foundations are indeed rising from the challenges of the past few years and excited about possibilities held by the future!
We begin Monday at 1:30 with discussion group gatherings. We will have spaces for these groups:
- Orientation for New Foundation Staff
- Controllers/Treasurers/CFOs
- Stewardship/Learning Leaders/Planned Giving Staff
- Communication/Marketing Staff
- Executive Directors/CEOs
Following these conversations, we will hear a panel discussion, “Trade Secrets: What We’ve Learned” featuring members of NAUMF sharing their perspectives on unique challenges they’ve experienced – that may not be so unique after all.
Tuesday we will begin our day with “Learn and Connect Sessions” featuring our friends and sponsors, creating opportunities for us to learn new practices and be inspired by what’s working in other places.
We have carved out time on Tuesday afternoon to give everyone a chance to fellowship and connect with other NAUMF members. On the event registration site you’ll be able to sign up for activities.
Our guest speaker on Wednesday morning is Dr. Dan Heist, Assistant Professor of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management at the Romney Institute of Public Service and Ethics at Brigham Young University and co-founder of the Donor-Advised Fund Research Collaborative (DAFRC). He is a leading researcher on this giving tool and has a deep well of research and commentary on donor trends that can help all of us – whether we offer DAFs or solicit gifts from donors using a DAF.
Wednesday afternoon we will hold our business meeting and conclude our time together with a closing reception.
We also have opportunities for spouses to have some fun in Tucson! Spouse activities are planned for Tuesday morning and Wednesday morning, and spouses are invited to join us for our activities on Tuesday afternoon.
